Upcoming Sales Events

11/6/2013

I don't participate in very many sales events throughout the year because it seems they all take place in the last two months, November and December. This month alone I'm participating in at least two and maybe three sales. If anyone's interested, I'll have a booth at the Hickam Craft Fair this Saturday, November 9th. The fair is open from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and I plan on bringing about 60 pots. I'll also be offering seconds, pots that are damaged or a little wonky, for deep discounts. I think the most expensive second I'm offering is $20. There will be over 130 booths, and last year they had more than 3,000 people show up. I'm participating this year since one of my friends at HPG who does alot of sales throughout the year told me this is the best one she does all year.
On November 23, the Hawaii Potters Guild will have its major sale of the year, the Cane Haul Road Sale, at Kuhio Elementary School from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The school is located at 2759 S. King St., Honolulu 96826. HPG will be selling pots that have been donated by potters to raise funds and teachers and members of the guild will be setting up their own booths as well. I haven't made up my mind whether or not to do this sale since I have so many other things going on that day, but I'll let you know in a week or so. But I'm sure it will be a great show, so go if at all possible.
The annual Studio Benefit Sale for the Honolulu Museum of Art School starts with an opening reception on Tuesday, November 26 from 5:30 to 8:00pm at Linekona. Both teachers and students will be offering ceramics, jewelry, glass, metals, and textiles. This is the best sale of fine crafts in the state of Hawaii, and offers hundreds of pieces at very reasonable prices. It's also vetted by the staff so they don't just let anything and everything into the sale. The sale runs from Tuesday, November 26 to Sunday, December 8 and is open from 10:00am to 6:00pm daily. Keep coming back to the sale because the inventory keeps changing. Each artist can have up to 50 pieces in inventory at a time, so we will keep adding pieces as we sell pieces. We will also be making new work during the time of the sale which we'll also include as it's finished. Last year some of the best pots I offered at the sale were finished and brought to the sale in the last few days.  Please email me if you have any questions about any of the above sales. Hope to see you there!
